Critical Care Respiratory Therapist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Critical Care Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Ascension. This is a dynamic opportunity for an individual with a passion for providing exceptional patient care and a commitment to staying up-to-date on the latest advancements in respiratory therapy.
About the Role:
This full-time position will be working within our Respiratory Care department, where you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients and provide critical care services including ventilation management, aerosol therapy, and oxygen therapy.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, assessing their needs and developing personalized treatment plans
- Assess patient conditions, develop care plans, implement and monitor equipment, and communicate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care
- Monitor, record, and report patient condition, ensuring accurate documentation and updating medical records as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care, including educating patients and families about health conditions and available community resources
- Participate in emergency response teams, responding to resuscitation codes and other critical situations as required
Requirements:
- Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross, obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date
- Education: High school diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience, Associate's degree, or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required
