Key Responsibilities:

  • The Registered Nurse (RN) IIB role is a licensed nursing position, requiring an experienced clinician who operates at the Competent to Proficient level according to Benner's model of clinical practice.
  • Deliver exceptional patient experiences by adhering to our Standards of Practice, which emphasize Positive Language (AIDET, Managing Up, Key Words).
  • Conduct nursing assessments, assist with examinations and treatments, and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Provide professional nursing care to a diverse patient demographic, including conducting assessments, patient education, and record maintenance.
  • Effectively and efficiently deliver direct patient care, accommodating varied and complex patient needs.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to ensure compassionate, efficient, and quality care, aiming for optimal treatment outcomes.
  • Exhibit clinical competence in care delivery, technology use, medication administration, procedure performance, and emergency management, while advocating for patient and family rights.
  • Assume leadership roles with increasing responsibilities, which may include participating in or leading unit governance initiatives, serving as charge nurse or preceptor, and contributing to service line or hospital-wide initiatives in collaboration with management.
  • This position is specifically designated for RNs focused on surgical departments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution
  • 1-2 years of nursing experience
  • Experience in the Operating Room
  • Certification from the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Valid TX State RN License or Compact RN License
