Tractor Technician

We are seeking a skilled Tractor Mechanic to join our team at J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing intermediate level maintenance, service, and repair of our tractors and other equipment.

• Technical Expertise: Demonstrate proficient technical knowledge of preventative maintenance, replacement of parts/components, and more difficult repairs as it pertains to tractor maintenance, including fuel systems, batteries, engines, drivetrains, onboard computers, transmissions, air brake systems, and FHWA Inspections.
• Training and Development: Participate in Original Equipment Manufacture training for OE repairs and assist with the onboarding and mentoring of new Tractor Technician trainees.
• Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot tractor issues, work independently, and seek assistance as needed to ensure efficient and effective repairs.
• Communication and Teamwork: Maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers at all times and work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve maintenance goals.
• Quality and Safety: Understand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures and maintain a high level of quality in all repairs, adhering to company and manufacturer specifications.

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 1-2 years of experience in Semi-Tractor maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certifications: A/C Certification, DOT certified in FHWA Inspections and Air Brakes.
• Physical Demands: Ability to lift/move appliances up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
