Job Summary:

As a Trailer Technician at J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc., you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections on trailers, containers, and other equipment. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail to ensure that all fleet maintenance processes are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs: Troubleshoot and repair issues with trailers, containers, and other equipment, including fuel systems, batteries, engines, drive trains, onboard computers, transmissions, and air brake systems.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment: Conduct regular inspections to ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and make any necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Assist with training and mentorship: Provide guidance and support to new technicians to help them develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development: Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques by participating in manufacturer training and other professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient work environment: Follow all shop safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Qualifications: 2 years of experience in semi-tractor maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent, basic welding skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
