Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Behavioral Therapy Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our special education department, you will work closely with our Behavior Therapist to provide individualized support and instruction to students with diverse needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement evidence-based behavioral interventions, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECS), to support student learning and behavior.
  • Collaborate with our Behavior Specialist to develop and implement individualized behavior plans, ensuring alignment with student IEP goals.
  • Provide direct support to students, including teaching replacement behaviors, managing challenging behaviors, and facilitating social interactions.
  • Collect and analyze data to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to coordinate behavioral therapy goals with the total educational program.
  • Attend ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience working with students with autism, emotional disturbance, intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, and/or behavior challenges.
  • Knowledge of crisis prevention and intervention techniques, including physical restraints and holds.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families.
