A Bright Future, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caregiver (Solano County) to join our team. As a Community Living Instructor, you will play a vital role in providing supportive services to individuals with developmental disabilities, empowering them to live independently and safely in their communities.
Key Responsibilities- Implement program curricula and deliver individual and group learning experiences to assist participants in achieving their goals.
- Maintain accurate data regarding participant progress and participate in assessment, planning, and evaluation processes.
- Prepare teaching materials for Independent Living Skills Training and Support Service sessions.
- Schedule participant sessions and programming according to their Individual Service Plan and Training domains.
- Provide training and support in areas such as money management, nutrition, cooking, comparison shopping, emergency procedures, community education, medical procedures, counseling, and crisis intervention.
- Coordinate participant training programs with other programs and services, such as Social Security, AFDC, WIC, Food Stamps, counseling, and Planned Parenthood.
- Understand and convey the participant-centered philosophy of A Bright Future, Inc. in interactions with participants and other agencies.
- Attend monthly staff meetings and individual meetings with supervisor.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19.
- Must have a driver's license and clean DMV record.
- CPR and First Aid training, or willingness to be trained within 30 days of employment.
- TB clearance within 30 days of employment.
- Department of Justice fingerprint clearance (prior to employment).
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening (prior to employment).
- IHSS provider certification in the county(s) of placement within 30 days of employment.
- Prefer behavioral training and knowledge of Regional Center System servicing developmentally disabled.
- Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to talk and hear; regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach within arm's length; lift and move objects weighing up to 40 pounds; possess visual acuity; and possibly drive during their assigned work shift.
