Position Overview:
The EMC Engineer will be responsible for conducting independent testing and assessment of various products to ensure compliance with U.S., Canadian, and international EMC/EMI standards. This includes generating detailed reports and maintaining effective communication with clients.

Work Schedule:
2nd shift: 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct on-site and off-site evaluations of products to verify adherence to relevant standards.
  • Interpret and assess the applicability of national codes and standards for the equipment under test (EUT).
  • Identify and procure necessary testing instruments and equipment based on project requirements.
  • Adhere to established testing protocols.
  • Provide mentorship to junior technical staff.
  • Assist in preparing project quotes, including timelines, site requirements, equipment rentals, samples, and applicable standards.
  • Develop specialized expertise in a specific product category, serving as a reviewer or resident expert.
  • Set up and operate standard testing equipment, including spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and amplifiers.
  • Utilize hand tools as necessary.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to collect data and draw valid conclusions.
  • Capability to make independent technical decisions within established guidelines.
  • Fundamental technical and administrative skills necessary for job performance.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
  • A valid driver's license and a reliable driving record are essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Familiarity with U.S., Canadian, and international compliance standards such as ANSI, CSA, UL, EN, IEC.
