Job Summary

Zobility is seeking a highly skilled Product Development Engineer to join our team. As a Product Development Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and executing advanced Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems and test plans as a core part of the control development process within the Vehicle Controls Research and Advanced Engineering Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Innovative Solution Development: Design, develop, and implement new virtual simulation solutions on HIL platforms to support research and development of advanced automotive control systems.
  • Process Improvement: Research and implement new processes, methods, and tools to increase the capability, automation, and efficiency of software simulation, build, and test initiatives.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with control system developers to create HIL test plans, validate operation of Control System software and hardware on HIL, process and analyze test data, and create test reports.
  • Modeling and Simulation: Design, implement, validate, and document Matlab/Simulink models for interfacing to HIL system hardware and communication networks.
  • System Integration: Design, build, validate, and document HIL I/O circuits and wiring harnesses to interface HIL simulator to electronic control units and subsystem sensors and actuators.
  • Test Automation: Design, implement, validate, and document test scripts, test automation, and user interfaces for HIL system.
  • System Maintenance: Maintain HIL system operation with updates to interface models, system hardware, user interfaces, and test automation as required.
Requirements
  • Hands-on Experience: Hands-on experience with dSpace hardware-in-the-loop systems and ControlDesk / ConfigurationDesk software.
  • Electronics Lab Experience: Hands-on experience with electronics lab equipment and tools.
  • Automotive Experience: Experience with automotive embedded control systems, sensors, and actuators.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrated effective communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills in a team environment.
  • Task Management: Demonstrated ability to manage and balance multiple tasks and timelines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Research Experience: Experience delivering innovative solutions in a research-based environment.
  • Matlab/Simulink Proficiency: Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink modeling and simulation of plant and control systems.
  • Test Planning Experience: Experience with the creation and execution of test plans, test scripts, and test automation and the generation of test reports.
  • CAN/LIN/Ethernet Experience: Experience with CAN/LIN/Ethernet tools and testing.
  • Version Control Experience: Experience with version control and process automation tools (GitHub, Jenkins...).
  • Programming Experience: Experience with high-level programming language (C, C++, Python, Matlab m-script).
  • Electrified/Connected Vehicle Experience: Experience with Electrified or Connected vehicle development or testing.
  • Modeling and Simulation Tools: Experience using other modeling and simulation software tools such as Amesim, CarSim, or CarMaker.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering.
