Position Summary
The Quality Control (QC) Supervisor plays a critical role in upholding quality standards across our operations. This position involves overseeing the activities of onsite inspectors and ensuring compliance with established quality practices. The QC Supervisor is expected to possess a deep understanding of relevant processes, codes, and specifications, as well as the ability to conduct routine quality inspections as necessary. Familiarity with QC equipment and documentation is essential. This role includes responsibilities for training and guiding staff in alignment with the company's policies and values, while reporting directly to the QC Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Quality Control Technician team, implementing strategies to achieve departmental objectives and uphold quality standards.
  • Provide guidance and support in quality control matters.
  • Ensure all personnel receive comprehensive safety training.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve various quality-related issues and opportunities.
  • Maintain an inventory of materials pertinent to QC operations.
  • Engage with suppliers to procure necessary QC materials.
  • Research and assess products for potential procurement.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and management as required.
  • Foster positive relationships with colleagues, clients, and regulatory bodies.
  • Actively contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing the company's overall performance.
  • Represent the organization in a professional manner that reflects our core values.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education is required.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with 1 to 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and recordkeeping systems.
  • Experience with measuring instruments and laboratory equipment.
  • Understanding of company policies and operational procedures.
  • Ability to interpret regulations, technical manuals, and drawings.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of supervisory and leadership principles.
  • Familiarity with employment relations practices.
  • Capability to define job expectations and assess performance.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate staff activities.
  • Conflict resolution skills and knowledge of counseling techniques.
  • Understanding of policy development principles.
  • Analytical skills for problem-solving and solution development.
  • Knowledge of materials management, including procurement and inventory oversight.
  • Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and safe handling practices for chemicals.
