We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Clerk Typist II to join our team at Inglewood Unified School District. As a Clerk Typist II, you will be responsible for performing general clerical work of average difficulty involving standardized procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform general clerical work of average difficulty involving standardized procedures.
  • Effectively operate modern office machines and other related equipment used in largely repetitive activities.
  • Administer the area of assignment and/or designee.
  • Perform duties related to setting up and starting a computer.
  • Properly and appropriately print out separate reports when requested.
  • Issue re-admittance cards for students who are returning from absence.
  • Properly post and maintain student attendance for correct input into the student information system.
  • Verify student requests to leave early by telephone verification and/or emergency card information.
  • Scrutinize notes of students suspected of forgery.
  • Receive student enrollment information and input and code incoming data into the student information system.
  • Prepare and produce master schedules and bell schedules.
  • Process, assemble, and distribute various school reports.
  • Create queries and run reports as requested by site administrators.
  • Update reports on students with truancy records.
  • Establish effective working relationships with the Principal and Counselors.
  • Typing clearance slips for students who have checked out of school.
  • Summon students when requested by parents.
  • Issue duplicate re-admittance cards when required.
  • Typing suspension notices.
  • Assist students who are ill in the absence of the nurse.
  • Forward a log accounting for suspensions and other disciplinary actions to the Child Welfare Attendance Officer.
  • Maintain records of students utilizing DPSS services.
  • Properly file and maintain registration papers and emergency cards.
  • Provide general clerical functions, including answering the phone, filing, typing, completing forms, and making mathematical calculations.
  • Train and supervise Office Practice Students.
  • Run and forward Scan-Tron forms from classrooms to various teachers in a timely fashion.
  • Verify the reason why students, who have been absent for more than two days, by making calls in an efficient and competent manner.
  • Monitor and systemize records regarding expenditures, purchasing of school supplies, current inventories, and budgets.
  • Communicate vital information regarding student qualifications for enrollment in school in an effective and professional manner.
Requirements:
  • Equivalent to graduation from high school.
  • Three years in computer and attendance procedures and activities.
  • Modern office practices.
  • Computer input skills.
  • Data processing procedures.
  • Effective telephone communication skills.
  • Ability to perform clerical work involving independent judgment and mini-computer operations.
  • Ability to type at a speed of 50 words per minute from clear, legible copy.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
  • Ability to work with parents/students and the community when required.
