Cloud SIEM is Datadog's Security solution that offers real-time threat detection and analysis for dynamic, cloud-scale environments.

Currently, Cloud SIEM processes vast amounts of logs generated by our clients' systems (such as Cloudtrail, AWS, Okta, etc.). As we expand, we aim to enhance our streaming engine's capabilities to identify threats across additional data sources, including metrics and database activities.

This role presents a unique chance to contribute to high-scale, reliable systems that support our intuitive Cloud SIEM product.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage high-priority, high-visibility projects that enhance the platform's value, resilience, and scalability across various teams.
- Provide technical guidance across multiple areas of the platform.
- Mentor and support fellow engineers in architectural decisions.
- Identify potential system vulnerabilities and trends in reliability, proposing solutions to mitigate them.
- Offer insights on prioritizing engineering-led initiatives for both short- and long-term planning and roadmaps.
- Collaborate with other Engineering teams to understand their systems and explore integration opportunities with our solutions.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience leading cross-team initiatives within a product-driven environment, collaborating closely with Product and Design teams.

- Demonstrated success in driving impactful technical initiatives where performance, cost efficiency, usability, and resilience are paramount.

- Extensive back-end programming experience, with a track record of architecting, building, and managing distributed systems to address large-scale challenges.

- Passion for mentoring and developing other engineers.
- A degree (BS/MS/PhD) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent experience.

This position is available in various departments within our organization; to comply with US export control regulations, some roles may require candidates to be eligible for necessary authorizations from the US government.

Benefits and Professional Development:
- New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP).
- Ongoing professional development, product training, and career advancement opportunities.
- Intra-departmental mentorship and networking programs.
- A diverse and inclusive company culture, with opportunities to join Community Guilds (employee resource groups).
- Access to mental health benefits for employees and dependents aged 6 and above.
- Competitive global benefits.

Benefits and professional development opportunities may vary based on the country of employment and the nature of the role.
