Position Overview:
This role involves the setup and operation of welding machinery, specifically focused on the manual welding of components that bear pressure. The individual in this position is tasked with overseeing the welding process and ensuring product quality, making adjustments as necessary to guarantee a consistent output of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shift Availability: Primarily seeking candidates for the first shift.
  • Compensation: Starting at $17.50 per hour.
  • Educational Support: Tuition reimbursement available, up to $10,000 annually.

Essential Duties: The following duties are critical to the role, with the possibility of additional responsibilities:

  • Interprets blueprints and identifies necessary components.
  • Configures operational settings on welding equipment and monitors performance, making adjustments as required.
  • Aligns and assembles components accurately.
  • Executes welding on fabricated, cast, and stamped components to construct tanks and pressure vessels.
  • Conducts initial inspections prior to commencing production runs.
  • Evaluates product quality using specified gauges and inspection standards.
  • Operates lifting equipment as necessary.
  • Actively participates in safety, environmental, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Adheres to all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) guidelines and procedures.
  • Understands and follows Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and EHS Work Instructions.
  • Reports unsafe conditions or incidents promptly to management.
  • Shuts down operations if safety is compromised.
  • Follows established machine shutdown protocols.
  • Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
Completion of required in-house training is mandatory.

Language Proficiency:
Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, blueprints, measuring tools, and operational manuals. Capable of effectively communicating in one-on-one situations.

Mathematical Skills:
Proficient in basic arithmetic operations.

Certifications:
Must successfully complete welding certification requirements and lockout/tagout training as applicable.

Physical Requirements:
The role necessitates the following physical capabilities:

  • Regularly required to stand and use hands for handling materials.
  • Frequent walking and occasional stooping, kneeling, or crawling.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects, with assistance for items over 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and depth perception.
  • Willingness to work overtime as production demands dictate.

Work Environment:
Employees will encounter moving mechanical parts and a high noise level, necessitating the use of hearing protection and other personal protective equipment during production activities.
