Pulmonary Function Specialist

At Yale New Haven Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Pulmonary Function Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our respiratory therapy team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic pulmonary testing, educating medical staff and patients, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform pulmonary function testing, including spirometry, static lung volumes, and diffusion capacity
  • Educate medical staff, patients, and visitors on respiratory therapy procedures
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with patient care team members

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • College-level courses in science and mathematics
  • Graduate of an approved school of Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Technology
  • 1-3 years of experience working in pulmonary function
  • Presently holding RPFT or RRT credentials

Working Conditions:

  • Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles
  • Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration
