Homebound Teacher

Crescent City Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate Homebound Teacher to join our team. As a Homebound Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering instruction to students in a homebound or hospital setting.

• Deliver instruction to students in a homebound or hospital setting
• Communicate with parents/guardians about student progress
• Collaborate with teammates in grade-level and subject-level teams
• Use data to track student achievement and improve practice
• Participate in daily, weekly, and quarterly meetings about student achievement
• Gather materials and assignments through designated building contacts
• Implement IEPs with parents/guardians to address student needs
• Present material in a meaningful manner using correcting, reteaching, or other methods
• Proctor examinations using provided directions
• Work with teachers to develop techniques that enhance the program
• Return finished work and tests to teachers for correction and grading
• Participate in progress update meetings with parents, staff, and teachers
• Participate in the life of the school, including student activities and events
• Embody, advocate, and operationalize the mission, vision, and direction of Crescent City Schools
• Take on other tasks as needed

• Bachelor's degree or higher
• Louisiana Teacher Certification in Special Education or equivalent certification in another state
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, and occasionally lift up to 10 pounds
• Valid Driver's License, reliable transportation, and appropriate insurance
