2024-2025 Homebound Teacher

Our Homebound Teachers impact students’ lives by:
- Delivering instruction in the homebound or hospital setting
- Communicating with parents/guardians about student progress
- Collaborating with teammates in grade-level and subject-level teams
- Using data to track student achievement and to constantly improve practice
- Participating in daily, weekly, and quarterly meetings about student achievement
- Gathering appropriate materials and assignments through designated building contacts (usually classroom content teachers or the Special Education case manager)
- Implementing IEP with parents/guardians to address the time period that student will be in the homebound program
- Present material in a meaningful manner using correcting, reteaching, or other appropriate methods
- Proctor examinations using directions provided by the teacher
- Work with teachers to develop techniques that will enhance the program delivered at home
- Return finished work and tests to the teacher for correction and recording of grades
- Participate in progress update meetings with parents, staff, and teachers
- Participating in the life of the school, including student activities and events
- Embodying, advocating, and operationalizing the mission, vision, and direction of Crescent City Schools
- Taking on other tasks as needed

Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- This is an in-person role
- Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License, have reliable transportation and appropriate insurance.
