About the Role:
The Service Manager will oversee the daily operations of the service department, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction and service quality. This role will be responsible for supervising and developing a team of technicians, managing the service department's budget and profitability, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Direct supervision and development of all shop and field technicians, as well as the service department office staff.
- Financial Management: P&L responsibilities for the service department growth and profitability.
- Recruitment and Training: Interview, hire, train, and participate in the education of shop and field technicians.
- Quality Control: Supervise, inspect, and approve all shop repair jobs for completeness and accuracy prior to return to customer.
- Customer Communication: Quote the customer as necessary and keep them informed of cost overages, delays, additional work, etc.
- Facilities Management: Manage the cleanliness of the grounds, service shop, steam pad, break room, etc. to maintain a professional looking image and workplace.
- Equipment Preparation: Supervise the preparation and pre-delivery of new equipment.
- Work Order Management: Close work orders within 48 hours of completion.
- Warranty Administration: Responsible for the supervision of warranty administration.
- Customer PMs: Responsible for the supervision of customer PMs for timeliness, completeness, and the sale of additional work, etc.
- Customer Complaints: Resolve customer complaints and billing problems.
- Interdepartmental Communication: Interface with other departments.
- Account Management: Follow-up on past due accounts and assist with service-related situations.
- Policies and Procedures: Establish and follow policies and procedures with a special emphasis on safety-related issues.
- Rental Management: Coordinate with rental management on PMs and maintenance of rental units.
- Rental Truck Repairs: Oversee repairs on rental trucks.
- Rental Delivery: Ensure on-time delivery of rental units to customers.
- Factory Relations: Interface as needed with factory service representatives.
- Special Assignments: Perform other duties and special assignments as assigned.
Requirements:
- Leadership Skills: Strong management abilities.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to organize and prioritize.
- Technical Skills: Computer skills or ability to learn.
- Service Experience: Service experience.
- Communication Skills: Good oral and written communications skills.
- Confidentiality: Confidentiality.
- Valid Driver's License: Valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
- Attendance: Regular and prompt attendance.
- Professional Image: Present a professional image in personal appearance, dress, and preparation.
Working Conditions:
Employee is expected to work a basic 40-hour week, Monday through Friday, plus whatever time is required to accomplish goals for the position, which could include weekend coverage.
