Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Labor Relations Associate (Managerial Assistant III) to join our team at the Illinois Secretary of State. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong administrative, analytical, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the coordination of labor and employment matters, including union negotiations, grievances, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Labor Relations, including preparing reports, presentations, and other materials.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with department staff, other agencies, and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of administrative practices and methods.
  • Extensive knowledge of agency operations and labor relations principles.
  • Ability to express complex ideas clearly both orally and in written form.
  • Ability to develop and maintain satisfactory working relationships with legislators, judicial and executive branch officials, other agency representatives, and the general public.
  • Willingness to travel and possession of a valid Illinois driver's license.
Education and Experience

Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of four years of college, with coursework in public or business administration, and three years of responsible professional experience in a public or private organization.
