Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Instrument Service Engineer to join our team at Pace. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing, providing, or overseeing the maintenance, repair, and qualification of instrumentation, hardware, and software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair instrumentation and equipment, providing intermediate to complex technical support as needed.
  • Provide calibration and qualification of instruments and equipment, ensuring accuracy and precision.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to instrument and equipment systems, enhancing overall performance and efficiency.
  • Sources and orders supplies and parts to ensure inventory of consumables and repair parts for instruments.
  • Interact with customers and staff to provide analytical instrument support, explanation of troubleshooting results, and solutions based on troubleshooting.
  • Draft and/or revise technical documentation and documents, such as standard operation procedures, calibration procedures, and qualification protocols.
  • Participate in cross-functional project or program objectives, receiving direction and presenting information to management.
  • Provide analysis and interpretation of equipment policies, programs, and practices, offering counsel to staff, management, and functional leaders.
  • Contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, electronics, or a closely related field.
  • Three (3) years of instrument/equipment troubleshooting and repair work experience.
  • Intermediate to complex knowledge of laboratory and analytical instrumentation, metrology standards, and principles, practices, and techniques to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve problems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of applicable area laws, codes, and regulations, as well as computer applications and systems related to the work.
