Job Summary
The Cardiovascular Technologist performs hemodynamic monitoring procedures of a highly specialized nature as well as assists the physician during all procedures. This role works with patients from adolescents to geriatrics, providing exceptional care and support. In addition, the Cardiovascular Technologist trains other Cath Lab personnel, ensuring a high level of expertise within the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period.
- Performs hemodynamic monitoring procedures of a highly specialized nature.
- Assists the physician during all procedures.
- Works with patients from adolescents to geriatrics.
- Trains other Cath Lab personnel.
Requirements
- Graduate of a certificate or degree granting program or post-secondary educational program in health science.
- 2 years of interventional Cath Lab or 2 years of Electrophysiology experience.
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES).
- Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- AHA ACLS certification within 60 days of hire.
