Job Summary

The After School Care Assistant will provide support to the After School Care Coordinator with the preparation of materials and rooms, student supervision and assistance, and ensuring a safe, caring environment for students attending the after-school care program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school
  • Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Support and adhere to the Code of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school and Diocese
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding school matters
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other professionals
  • Monitor and assist individual students in small instructional groups to support learning activities
  • Devise and implement daily activity planning
  • Ensure the safety and security of students
  • Assist students with homework assignments
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of childcare experience, preferred
  • Must submit an Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) Application for Ministry within the first week of employment, participate in an EIM Basic abuse prevention training workshop within 60 days of submitting a complete Application for Ministry, and maintain EIM compliance during the entire term of employment
