Job Summary

The Indianapolis Zoo is seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT / AV Technician to join our Information Technology Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for our audiovisual and information technology systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Support: Provide front-line technical support to Zoo staff and events, including troubleshooting and repairing audiovisual and information technology systems.
  • System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on IT and AV equipment, including network connections and addressing, Microsoft Office Suite, software and hardware installation, printer maintenance, and point-of-sale systems.
  • Inventory Management: Track and manage inventory of AV/IT equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and assist in budgeting for equipment replacement.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with animal care and education staff to ensure seamless presentations and events.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related field highly desirable.
  • Experience: Previous professional experience as an AV or IT Technician or related discipline strongly preferred.
  • Skills: Advanced computer skills, ability to operate all computer systems, and ability to descend/ascend ladders, steps, and uneven terrain.
  • Certifications: Must be 18 years old and have a valid driver's license with a record insurable by the Zoo's insurance.
