Bank Teller

As a Teller at American Bank Montana, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our banking services. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Representing American Bank Montana in a professional and courteous manner to customers.
- Providing prompt, efficient, and accurate service in processing transactions, including receiving deposits, cashing checks, and paying out money from savings and checking accounts.
- Verifying deposit amounts, examining checks for endorsement and negotiability, and entering transactions into bank records via an online teller terminal.
- Cashing checks and paying out money from savings and checking accounts upon verification of signatures and customer account balances.
- Accepting loan payments of all types, ensuring that payments equal the amount due and that all late charges, if applicable, are collected.
- Selling bank products for fee income, such as money orders, statement copies, cashier checks, photocopies, stop payments, and gift cards.
- Redeeming cash items for deposit or cash, such as Savings Bonds.
- Promoting bank services and cross-selling bank products.
- Providing information to customers regarding accounts and products upon proper verification.
- Balancing cash and negotiable items.
- Satisfactorily completing all required compliance bank training and complying with all regulations that apply within the scope of the position.
Additional responsibilities may include:
- Combination and/or key control.
- Opening and processing night depository, ATM, and/or cash dispensers.
- Control of negotiable instruments.
- Internal audit of cash and negotiable instruments.
- Performing other duties and responsibilities as directed.
Working Conditions:
- Physical requirements include standing for long periods when providing customer service, sitting, walking, and must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs. waist high and 20 lbs. shoulder high.
- Work environment is indoors in a clean atmosphere with normal noise levels.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Exposed to a potentially hazardous condition - robbery. Receives detailed instructions and procedures to minimize the risk.
