Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Sonora Quest. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing complex laboratory tests and procedures, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test results, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of laboratory tests and procedures, including blood banking, chemistry, hematology, and microbiology.
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or issues.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, including CLIA '88, JCAHO, CAP, and OSHA.
  • Assist with department compliance and accreditation requirements.
  • Collect, receive, and process biological specimens into the laboratory.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology or a related field.
  • MLS or categorical certification (ASCP, AMT, HEW, AAB) or equivalent experience.
  • Basic knowledge of specimen requirements and medical terminology.
  • Previous experience with phlebotomy and processing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MLS/MT or categorical certification.
  • Additional related education and/or experience.
