Position Overview

AECOM is currently seeking a motivated and creative Entry-Level Geotechnical/Structural Engineer for immediate employment. This role will be based in our offices in Wisconsin or Illinois.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site assessments and evaluate existing structures.
  • Supervise geotechnical drilling operations.
  • Document and categorize soil samples, producing formal boring logs.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, including photographic documentation and repair suggestions.
  • Develop structural calculations for various components, such as foundations and concrete elements.
  • Perform geotechnical analyses, including slope stability and bearing capacity evaluations.
  • Collaborate with drafting teams to produce construction drawings.
  • Review construction phase inquiries and modify designs as necessary.
  • Provide computer-aided design support for diverse projects.
  • Assist in report preparation and site evaluations while coordinating with a multidisciplinary project team.
  • Engage in engineering design and analysis under the guidance of experienced engineers.
  • Create designs, models, and calculations while adhering to project timelines and budgets.
  • Understand and apply relevant regulations to ensure compliance in project design and permitting.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to the nature of the work.
  • A valid U.S. driver's license is required for site visits.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in civil engineering.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Civil3D.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification is preferred.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently within project deadlines.
  • Willingness to collaborate within a team environment.
  • Flexibility to engage in various projects and travel as needed.
