Dental Department Supervisor

Job Summary
David Raines Community Health Centers is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dental Assistant Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our dental department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dental assisting, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee dental department staffing, training, and compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Assist with new hire orientation, training, and onboarding of dental staff.
- Manage dental staff schedules to ensure optimal patient flow and provider support.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including Joint Commission requirements.
- Coordinate hiring, training, and development of dental staff.
- Attend EDR EHR training sessions and facilitate implementation of changes.
- Participate in quality improvement meetings and activities.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including operational data and quality logs.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Licensed Expanded Duty Dental Assistant or X-ray certification in the State of Louisiana.
- Minimum of five years of experience in dental assisting, with at least two years of supervisory experience.
- Experience with electronic health records, preferably NextGen or similar EHR.
- Ability to work after hours and weekends as required.
