Supervisor of Cytology Laboratory

This role oversees the daily operations of the Cytology Laboratory, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and compliance with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will have a strong background in laboratory management, with experience in supervising staff, managing budgets, and implementing quality control programs.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate daily laboratory operations, including staff supervision, quality control, and budget management
* Develop and implement quality control programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
* Supervise and train laboratory staff, including cytotechnologists and laboratory assistants
* Collaborate with laboratory leadership to develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in a related field
* 3 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with a strong background in laboratory management
* Certification as a Cytotechnologist (ASCP)
* Current Louisiana license or temporary license as a Cytotechnologist
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with laboratory information systems and software
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
Working Conditions
The successful candidate will work in a laboratory setting, with exposure to blood, body fluids, and other biological materials. The ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow laboratory safety protocols is essential.
