JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Manager of Application Services for Information Technology, the Senior Application Support Analyst is responsible for delivering primary business and application support for designated service groups, departments, and applications. This role involves providing implementation, support, and consulting services, acting as a lead resource as needed. The Analyst will work closely with end users, management, IT staff, consultants, and vendors to ensure optimal benefits from new or existing systems. A thorough understanding of user areas is essential for consulting, educating, and assisting users with application utilization.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Services Administration, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Postgraduate coursework and/or certification is highly desirable.
- A minimum of seven to ten years of demonstrated experience in applications analysis and support within a healthcare setting.
- Experience with McKesson modules and operational experience in a hospital environment is required.
- Experience in application and technology implementation is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of applications relevant to the MarinHealth environment, particularly McKesson products.
- Experience in structured systems analysis and project management.
- Ability to work independently and lead teams, prioritize tasks, and respond to urgent needs effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience in developing training materials and conducting presentations.
- Ability to analyze information and communicate findings clearly.
- Demonstrated customer service orientation and ability to work diplomatically.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and reporting tools like Crystal.
- Knowledge of hospital operations relevant to the assigned area.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively.
- Flexibility in handling multiple projects and adapting to changing circumstances.
- Leadership skills to mentor and develop team members.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships within the workplace.
ESSENTIAL
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of IT departmental operations and installed information systems.
- Conduct operational assessments to identify opportunities for system improvements.
- Ensure system interfaces are maintained and necessary changes are documented and tested.
- Lead troubleshooting and repair efforts for systems and applications.
- Assist end users with critical system components and software upgrades.
- Develop training materials and conduct user training sessions.
- Monitor system utilization and recommend modifications as needed.
- Participate in project management for multiple concurrent projects.
