The Los Rios Community College District is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to serve as a Student Support Assistant. This role involves providing exceptional support services to students, faculty, and staff, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Familiarize students with available resources, services, and programs, both individually and in groups;
- Answer questions regarding assigned program requirements and provide guidance on college policies and procedures;
- Present workshops on topics related to area of assignment and assist students with completing related forms and reviewing for completion;
- Interpret program regulations or benefit requirements for assigned areas and assist students in obtaining needed supportive services;
- Serve as a resource person to students and staff on area of assignment and work cooperatively with campus faculty, staff, other campus student resources, and related community agencies to serve student needs and represent the college;
- Assist with advertising the resources and programs provided by area of assignment and outreach efforts including visits to secondary schools or community organizations;
- Maintain confidential information and materials and perform general office duties such as filing, data entry, maintaining records, answering the phone, and making appointments;
- Recruit, interview, hire, and train temporary employees and assist with processing related timesheets;
- Monitor budget information, including processing requisitions and other related budget processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Two years of experience related to the duties of the position;
- Completion of an Associate's Degree or 60 semester units (90 quarter units);
- Have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
