Key Responsibilities

Medical Physicist Assistants play a vital role in supporting the Medical Physics team with essential tasks, including routine patient quality assurance. All activities will be conducted under the guidance of a qualified Medical Physicist.

  • Conducts regular quality assurance evaluations of proton and x-ray beam properties.
  • Assesses mechanical features of therapy and imaging apparatus.
  • Gathers quality assurance data using various radiation detection instruments (such as Matrixx ion chambers, Zebra, MapCheck, etc.).
  • Maintains precise records of data and documentation for review by the Medical Physics team as required.
  • Performs additional duties as necessary to assist the Medical Physics department.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in physics, physical science, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrates motivation, a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a systematic approach to tasks.
  • Exhibits excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Willingness to work outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends.

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday with shifts commencing at 6 PM or later, including occasional weekend hours.
