The Family Therapy Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering mental health evaluations and therapeutic interventions for youth. This position involves providing high-quality, holistic services using the Functional Family Therapy (FFT) model, while continuously monitoring and documenting the mental health and overall adjustment of the youth in our care. The Therapist works as part of a multi-disciplinary team, focusing on the development and execution of individualized treatment plans. Close collaboration with the administrative team is essential to ensure that therapy hours align with the needs of the youth and to support the effective operation of clinical services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct thorough mental health evaluations, assessing the youth's circumstances and delivering appropriate ongoing treatment.
  • Provide crisis intervention services for all youth, including screening for potential human trafficking issues.
  • Implement a variety of treatment strategies and protocols to effectively manage youth behaviors.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all client information.
  • Engage and educate family members or significant others in the treatment process when appropriate.
  • Develop tailored treatment plans based on the unique needs and situations of each patient.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with a strong ability to listen actively.
  • Compassionate and positive demeanor, with proven relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously or collaboratively within a team environment.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • A minimum of a Master's degree in human services, mental health, psychology, or a related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience working with youth or in a residential context.
  • An independent license is preferred but not mandatory.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet program needs.
  • Successful completion of background checks from relevant authorities.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and eligibility to drive as required for program services.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds frequently, 20 pounds occasionally, and up to 50 pounds infrequently.
  • Engagement in tasks that may involve standing or walking for 50% of the day and sitting for the remaining 50%.
  • May require bending, stooping, reaching, and grasping as necessary.
