Columbia Forest Products is seeking a highly skilled Safety and Compliance Specialist to join our team at our Chatham, Virginia facility. As a key member of our safety team, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Behavioral Based Safety Program: Develop and implement a comprehensive safety program that promotes a culture of safety and wellness among employees.
- Facilitate the HEROES Steering Team: Collaborate with team members to identify and address safety concerns, and develop strategies to improve safety performance.
- Conduct Safety Audits and Inspections: Regularly inspect the facility to identify potential hazards and develop corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Develop and Implement Training Programs: Design and deliver training programs to educate employees on safety procedures, regulations, and best practices.
- Ensure Compliance with OSHA Regulations: Stay up-to-date on OSHA regulations and ensure that the facility is in compliance with all relevant standards.
- Manage Environmental Responsibilities: Oversee the facility's environmental responsibilities, including spill prevention, control, and countermeasure plans, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Associate's Degree in Safety or Related Field or equivalent experience in a manufacturing safety role.
- Strong Computer Skills in Office 365, including proficiency in database software programs.
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills to effectively collaborate with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of OSHA Regulations and ability to stay up-to-date on changes and updates.
