Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse Reviewer plays a crucial role in collecting and submitting reliable data on eligible cases for participation in the Anesthesiology Quality Improvement and Reporting Exchange. This involves high-quality clinical screening, data compilation, documentation, and entry into the ASPIRE database of all eligible cases for the hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify patients for inclusion in the program registry through the application of program inclusion/exclusion criteria.
  • Independently manage the case load and report data to ASPIRE according to established standards and deadlines.
  • Demonstrate applicability of the methodology and the reliability of definitions utilized by reviewers within the program.
  • Identify areas for streamlining and process improvement in the data collection process.
  • Establish effective working relationships with members of the hospital community, especially staff in the Medicine, Nursing, Medical Records, and Information Systems Departments.
Requirements
  • BSN required.
  • MSN/ NP/ CRNA preferred.
  • Licensed in Michigan as registered nurse.
  • Minimum five (5) years clinical experience in perioperative nursing or experience in analyzing and interpreting process, clinical outcomes, and costs of care.
