About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Plastics Process Engineer to join our team at Abiomed, a part of the J&J Family of Companies. As a key member of our process engineering team, you will be responsible for driving supplier quality initiatives and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead supplier quality initiatives to drive continuous improvement and yield enhancements
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to determine qualification deliverables and support product development projects
  • Develop and implement process constraints analysis and capacity increase plans with suppliers
  • Engage with design engineers to review specifications and drawings, and suggest manufacturing methods
  • Utilize project management tools to track and report on deliverables and milestones
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in professional field, with medical device experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience designing, improving, or supporting manufacturing of injection molded and/or extruded plastics components
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and data-driven approach to decision-making
