We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Care team at Research Medical Center. As a Cardiac Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our team.
About the RoleThis is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Registered Nurse to work in a fast-paced Cardiac Care environment. You will be responsible for assessing patient conditions, administering medications, and conducting complete patient evaluations before procedures. Your excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the healthcare team will be essential in providing high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled and/or as needed, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform the administration of prescribed medications. Monitor patient for therapeutic response. Notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication.
- Conduct complete patient evaluation before procedure, including review of patient history and diagnostic tests, as well as physical and psychological assessments. Ensure patient/family/caregiver understands the procedure and the peri-operative process. Obtain and witness consent form.
- Engage in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, including active listening. Ensure patients, physicians, and colleagues have a clear understanding of all communications, and escalate care concerns appropriately.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
