Position SummaryAs a Traffic Safety Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our clients' operations by managing the flow of vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic through work zones. Your responsibilities will include implementing and maintaining traffic control measures while adhering to established safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Establish, oversee, and dismantle Advance Warning Signs, Channelizing Devices, and other traffic management tools in accordance with Federal, State, and Local guidelines.
- Maintain a Flagger Station, effectively directing road users using hand signals and STOP/SLOW paddles.
- Operate a company vehicle to transport equipment and team members to various job sites safely and efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with team members on-site via radio.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and report any potential safety concerns to your Supervisor.
- Complete required training within the timeframe set by management.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Traffic Control Technician (TCT) Certification or a minimum of 2000 verifiable hours of experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in traffic control, utility services, or construction preferred.
- Strong verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and customer relationship management systems.
- Ability to follow safe workplace practices.
- Valid Driver's License with no suspensions or revocations.
This role requires the ability to manage physical demands, including:
- Flexibility in hours based on staffing needs.
- Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
- Standing for extended periods and performing physically demanding tasks.
- Good manual dexterity and coordination.
