Veterinary Surgical Specialist

As a Veterinary Surgical Specialist at our facility, you will play a crucial role in providing top-notch surgical care to our patients. You will work collaboratively with our experienced surgeons and veterinarians to develop and implement anesthetic plans, ensuring the safe and effective management of anesthesia and pain in pets undergoing surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Anesthesia Management: Inspect and troubleshoot anesthesia equipment before and after use, ensuring proper functioning and safety.
- Pre-Anesthetic Assessments: Conduct thorough patient evaluations to identify potential risks and determine the most suitable anesthetic plan.
- Patient Monitoring: Closely monitor patients' vital signs during surgery, making adjustments to anesthesia as needed to maintain optimal physiological homeostasis.
- Pain Management: Administer medications to manage pain during and after surgical procedures, ensuring patients' comfort and well-being.
- Emergence and Recovery: Manage patients' airway and pulmonary status using endotracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation, pharmacological support, and extubation.
Requirements:
- Credentialed in Advanced training and Education in Anesthesia and Analgesia (AVTAA).
- Current certification and licensure in the state of practice.
- Hands-on experience working in veterinary emergency, critical care, and surgery, preferably in a multi-specialty hospital.
Compensation: We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience. In addition to your base salary, you will also receive comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
