Job Description

As a Program Specialist for the City and County of San Francisco's Mayor's Office of Housing and Community Development, you will play a critical role in the development and implementation of programs aimed at preventing and intervening in gender-based violence. This position will involve working closely with community-based partners to manage grant-funded activities and outcomes, providing technical assistance and capacity building to organizations, and developing and implementing programs that serve marginalized communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the GBV portfolio, including Advocacy and Education, Crisis Lines, Emergency Shelter, Legal Services, and Transitional Housing services
  • Work directly with GBV portfolio grantees to effectively deliver violence prevention and intervention services
  • Oversee and manage grant-funded activities and outcomes to ensure intended services are being provided
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with community-based partners to ensure a seamless and holistic GBV Intervention and Prevention program model
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity building to community-based organizations
  • Develop and make recommendations regarding annual grant work plans and operating budgets
  • Regularly review, monitor, and approve data entry and invoices
  • Perform program monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness and impact of programs and funded projects
Requirements:
  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and three years of administrative/professional experience in community development, housing development, workforce development, finance, education, social work, children/youth work, or criminal justice
  • Or possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in public or business administration, urban planning, government, social work, education, finance, or criminal justice and two years of administrative/professional experience in community development, housing and/or housing development, workforce development, finance, education, social work, children/youth work, or criminal justice
  • Or possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in public policy, planning, social work, public administration, finance, education, criminal justice, or business administration and one year of administrative/professional experience in community development, housing and/or housing development, workforce development, finance, education, social work, children/youth work, or criminal justice
  • Or possession of a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited college or university and one year of administrative/professional experience in community development, housing and/or housing development, workforce development, finance, education, social work, children/youth work, or criminal justice
