Aerotek is in search of a skilled metal fabrication specialist for an intermediate-level position. This role entails various aspects of weld preparation, including GTAW and GMAW-P welding techniques, as well as finishing operations to produce components in accordance with technical drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize TIG or MIG Pulse welding methods to join stainless steel parts made from 304 and 316 alloys.
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, and tolerances.
- Execute welding tasks in various orientations, including flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
- Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to prevent overheating of materials.
- Set up and operate both hand and power tools effectively.
- Select appropriate filler rods based on the specifications of the base metals.
- Grind or cut edges of workpieces to ensure a precise fit.
- Proficiency in GTAW and GMAW-P welding techniques.
- Experience with TIG and MIG Pulse welding.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with angle grinders and gas metal arc welding equipment.
- Knowledge of selecting suitable filler rods.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective problem-solving abilities.
- Adaptability to changing work conditions.
This role is a Contract-to-Hire opportunity.
Work EnvironmentThe position requires working in various physical orientations and involves the use of hand and power tools. Continuous monitoring and adjustment of the welding process are essential to avoid material damage.
