Position Overview

This role is essential in providing high-quality care within the surgical environment. The Surgical Technologist will be responsible for maintaining a sterile field and assisting in various surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Assist in a variety of surgical procedures while maintaining knowledge of different techniques.
  • Oversee environmental disinfection and uphold safety standards in the operating room.
  • Act as a Second Assistant when required.
  • Communicate effectively with staff regarding equipment and supply needs.
  • Facilitate the transport of patients and necessary equipment.
  • Maintain specialty equipment and surgical carts.
  • Perform patient positioning and transport duties.
  • Exhibit knowledge and skills relevant to patient care.
Qualifications

Licensure and Certification:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers is mandatory.

Educational Background:

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program is required.

Experience:

  • No prior experience is necessary; training will be provided.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with aseptic surgical techniques and operating room equipment.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic proficiency in computer usage.
  • Commitment to meeting annual educational requirements for hospital-based certifications.
Physical and Working Conditions
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capability to lift, carry, push, and pull various weights.
  • Exposure to different hazards; adherence to safety protocols is essential.
  • Mandatory use of protective gear.
  • Ability to perform various physical tasks throughout the work shift.
