We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Scientist to join our Cell Biology team in the Protein Sciences Core. As a Research Scientist, you will contribute to high-impact meaningful projects that will further advance our company's mission to cure cancer.
Key Responsibilities- Design and execute experiments to optimize recombinant protein expression in mammalian cells
- Purify and analyze proteins using various techniques, including chromatography and spectroscopy
- Conjugate antibodies and proteins to develop novel therapeutic agents
- Characterize protein structure and function using biophysical and biochemical methods
- Develop and implement new technologies to accelerate and improve protein production and characterization processes
- Document and record experimental results and data
- Communicate research findings and plans to both oral and written formats
- Coordinate tasks across multiple projects, demonstrating prioritization and planning skills
- Present research findings in a final presentation (PPT) near the conclusion of the internship
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have a minimum GPA of 2.8
- Authorized to work in the United States without Sponsorship now or in the future or CPT/OPT through your University
- Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. based university or college and enrolled in the fall semester after the completion of the internship
- Must be enrolled in an advanced degree program
- Must be able to complete a 10-12 consecutive week internship between May and August
- Must be able to relocate if necessary and work at the designated site for the duration of the internship
- Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Cell Biology, Biochemistry or related fields
- Experience in recombinant protein expression and/or protein purification (hand-on or theory)
- Ability to perform various analytical methods, such as SDS-PAGE, Western blot, UPLC/HPLC for analytical SEC, DLS or others
- Strong organizational skills and online record keeping
- Working on site in the lab
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Ability to identify issues and seek solutions
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusion and diversity in the workplace
- Efficient, organized, and able to handle short timelines in a fast-paced environment
