Job Title: Medium Voltage Applications Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medium Voltage Applications Engineer to join our team at Yaskawa America, Inc. - Drives & Motion Division. As a key member of our commercial and technical team, you will play a critical role in the success of our Medium Voltage Drives business unit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical expertise in MV Drive applications, including trace back analysis using drive software tools.
  • Offer remote and local application support for sales, distribution, and customers.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry standards and incorporate them into your work.
  • Collaborate with training teams to provide application-specific training for customers.
  • Participate in market segment trade shows and audit customer specifications and orders.
  • Coordinate project orders with engineering and provide project management as needed.
  • Assist product marketing, engineering, and technical support organizations on various issues.
Commercial Responsibilities:
  • Create quotations and work with the Director of MV Drives to ensure profitability.
  • Develop technical marketing material with the segment/industry manager.
  • Create, schedule, and present sales training material.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenues and/or decrease costs.
  • Work closely with the MV sales team to increase sales.
  • Assist in managing incoming customer orders for the MV Drives group.
Development Responsibilities:
  • Assist in performing QC and other conformance type tests as required.
  • Collaborate with product marketing, engineering, and technical support organizations on various issues.
  • Participate in design reviews for valuable feedback on issues and enhancements.
  • Coordinate with project management between 3rd party service providers and vendors.
  • Solve problems with highly effective solutions and provide technical guidance to others.
  • Apply broad knowledge of engineering principles and practices in various areas of assignments.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience with VFD or similar industrial automation product applications.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities and plan, organize, set priorities, and resolve issues expeditiously to meet customer demand.
  • Ability to read and comprehend schematics, wiring, and one-line diagrams and support LABVIEW-based products.
  • Practical experience working within a product development quality management system.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
