Position Overview

The Electrophysiology Technician role is essential in providing support within the electrophysiology department. This position involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring efficient operation during procedures.

Certification Requirements
  • Mandatory Certifications: EP Specialist, RCES
Job Responsibilities
  • Assisting in electrophysiology procedures, including ablations and device implants.
  • Essential skills include scrubbing, stimulating (MicroPace), and gaining access, with a minimum of 2 years of experience preferred.
  • Primary duties encompass setting up for cases, scrubbing, and stimulating.
Work Schedule
  • Standard shifts are scheduled from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with evening call responsibilities from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM for late cases.
  • Management will create the schedule; self-scheduling is not available.
  • No weekend call is currently required, but holiday call coverage will be on a rotating basis.
  • Evening backup call is typically required about two evenings each week.
Unit Information
  • The department operates with 2 EP Labs and typically has 1-2 EP Providers on site daily.
  • There may be opportunities to assist in the Cath Lab if qualified.
  • Electronic Medical Records utilized include Cerner and CardioLab.
Additional Insights
  • This role is newly integrated into our staffing model, transitioning responsibilities previously held by Advanced Practice Providers.
  • Hospital laundered scrubs are the required dress code.
  • Orientation will consist of 4-8 shifts, depending on the individual's experience and comfort level.
  • No Medical Assistants or CNAs are utilized in this capacity.
