Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Jabil. As a key member of our quality function, you will be responsible for representing the quality function of technical support, in conjunction with other internal support groups, regarding issues affecting manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and initiative to the quality organization through continuous improvement projects.
  • Interface with manufacturing area and other support groups to ensure department objectives are met.
  • Investigate identified quality problems and support manufacturing in analyzing manufacturing product lines to determine the root cause of non-conformances or customer complaints.
  • Evaluate and support inspection processes via inspection aids and instruction guidelines.
  • Review all supplier or customer discrepancies and coordinate and track the corrective/preventative action effort.
  • Lead CAPA investigations and tasks to determine root cause and corrective actions needed.
  • Provide trend analysis of defects occurring at the customer, supplier, and internally.
  • Participate in vendor survey activities as applicable.
  • Drive proactive participation with suppliers and aid in their process improvement efforts.
  • Monitor departmental activities and provide technical and logistical guidance/support for the quality engineering staff as applicable.
  • Interface and provide technical support on quality issues with the customer as needed.
  • Serve as a liaison between Jabil and suppliers or customers on quality-related issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required and two years related experience.
  • Experience in Defense and Aerospace manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience with circuit card assemblies highly preferred.
Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Read and understand visual aids. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding and to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Individual may be required to sit, stand, or walk. Reaching, bending, loading, and unloading of boards and reels is mandatory, as is lifting of up to 35 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and use of microscope and/or magnifying glass.
