Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst/Test Engineer

At New York Life Insurance Company, we're seeking a skilled Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst/Test Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our QA team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our software applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute automated and manual functional tests to validate the functionality, performance, and security of software applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product features and requirements, ensuring clear and actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Participate in all phases of the agile development cycle, from sprint planning to retrospectives, advocating for quality at each step.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects, working with developers and Business Owners, to facilitate quick resolutions.
  • Work with automation team to enhance test automation frameworks in support of continuous processes.
  • Provide input during backlog refinement and sprint planning, contributing to user story sizing and task estimation from a testing perspective.
  • Report on test results, offering insights and recommendations to improve product quality.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Industry-related QA certifications a plus.
  • 5+ years' related QA experience required, especially related to back-end testing.
  • Experience in developing and executing SQL queries required.
  • Experience working in areas of front-line business teams or comparable experience for external candidates.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary range of $59,400-$75,000.
  • Overtime eligible: Exempt.
  • Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes.
  • Sales bonus eligible: No.
