As a key member of our water treatment division, you will be responsible for providing technical support to minimize the time spent by our field force for equipment installation and start-up, while maximizing the time available for the pursuit of new chemical sales and business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare application quotes using GOE (Global Order Entry), and Bid programs
  • Review equipment orders for proper application based on Chem-Aqua boiler, cooling, and pre-treatment survey information along with Boiler-solve/Cool-solve calculations, prior to final approval for Equipment Division manufacture
  • Troubleshoot water treatment equipment locally (on-site) or remotely (phone, email, voicemail, etc)
  • Prepare written technical instructions for equipment as it relates to water treatment equipment
  • Use mathematical formulas to size water treatment equipment
  • Issue and evaluate return authorizations on defective equipment under warranty
  • Create equipment part codes on new equipment purchased
  • Quality control feed and control systems prior to shipment (i.e. AquaDART)
  • Manage online communications using Advantage's web portal. This includes connecting controllers to modems, setting up users, assigning users to controllers, setting up graphical interface screens, and configuring reports
  • Train employees, field personnel, and customers in the equipment, tools, work techniques, and skills required to accomplish assignments
  • Manage and complete special projects set forth by the Equipment Support Manager

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience in manufacturing water treatment equipment, or a two-year technical degree from an accredited technical school
  • Must have a general knowledge of electrical systems and operating a multi-meter
  • Knowledge of how to read mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Proficient use of computer software such as Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, and Oracle
  • Ability to use analytical and control equipment

Physical Demands:

  • Must have physical strength and ability to lift up to 40lbs, and carry such a weight for 100 feet
  • Must have good visual ability for close-up observations and use of analytical and control equipment
  • Must have good depth perception and ability to distinguish different colors
  • Must have hearing sufficient to hear verbal and audible signals at a moderate distance
  • Must be conditioned to sustain work in 115 degree mechanical room(s)

Other Requirements:

  • Must have a valid Drivers License
  • Must have reading ability sufficient to read technical manuals, mechanical and electrical drawings, trade magazines, and other technical materials
  • Must have writing ability sufficient to write correspondence, proposals, technical literature, and instructions
  • Must have good communication skills to deal with the public and to work cooperatively with sales force and other company employees
