Position Overview
The Principal Staff Accountant will execute daily accounting operations to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of financial data.

This role will involve gathering, analyzing, and monitoring all financial data, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Cash Balances, and communicating findings to Senior Management and Ownership.

The ideal candidate will possess the capability to engage with diverse team members across various levels in a dynamic environment, demonstrating flexibility, resourcefulness, proactivity, and professionalism while maintaining confidentiality.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
  • Enhance operational efficiency by automating processes, such as Accounts Payable and reporting.
  • Review monthly interest statements, accurately code and record accruals, and ensure timely payments.
  • Post general and adjusting journal entries as required.
  • Collaborate with management to prepare tax returns and audit documentation.
  • Generate and maintain reports while contributing to special projects as needed.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure prompt payment collection.
  • Raise awareness of financial implications that may be addressed or mitigated.
  • Process payables with precise application of sales and use tax regulations relevant to the project.
  • Support ad hoc and specialized reporting requests from ownership.
  • Perform additional administrative tasks as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Online.
  • Familiarity with construction job costing.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, including journal entry preparation and comprehension.
  • Exceptional skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to follow directions, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Adaptable to a fast-paced work environment with repetitive tasks.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and integrity in all professional interactions.
  • Willingness to work extended hours as necessary.
Compensation
Salary range: $70,000 - $85,000, depending on experience.
