Job Description:

We're looking for an experienced professional to join our team as a Process Control Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for executing routine reviews and assessments of critical food safety and quality programs across our manufacturing sites and support center. You will actively observe processes on the production floor and provide critical, documented reports of consistency against written manufacturing procedures.

The successful candidate will identify and report against key performance indicators for performance against benchmarks. This role requires collaboration with site and food safety and quality leaders to facilitate prioritization and continuous improvement initiatives. Shelf-life and in-process sensory evaluation will be key priorities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, review, and maintain process control audits
  • Audit food safety and quality training programs, documentation, and organization/design
  • Establish auditing standards for key processes and programs
  • Orient sanitation processes and develop verification procedures
  • Track annual food safety system reassessments
  • Verify specification and supplier documentation
  • Develop training content and facilitate training to build behaviors, actions, and awareness needed to meet high food safety and quality standards
  • Evaluate training effectiveness by observing team member practices
  • Develop training procedures for key processes
  • IDentify best practices and gaps across site training programs
  • Establish and maintain processes to trend progress in food safety and quality performance against benchmarks
  • Implement food safety culture assessment metrics

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Associate Degree or higher in a relevant field such as food science, microbiology, meat science, or animal science
  • At least 2 years of experience in food safety and quality assurance in the food processing industry
  • Certification in HACCP and competence in implementing and maintaining food quality plans using risk-based methodology
  • Understanding of GFSI food safety and quality systems (such as SQF and BRC)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet navigation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual ability to read, write, and speak Spanish is a plus

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
