- Facilitate the admission, transfer, and discharge processes for patients.
- Accurately complete necessary documentation related to patient care.
- Prepare patient rooms for new admissions, including setting up IV equipment and adjusting beds as needed.
- Ensure that all personal belongings accompany patients during transfers or discharges.
- Safely transport stable patients as required.
- Maintain confidentiality and security while interacting with patients, families, and visitors.
- Manage the cleaning, procurement, and return of medical equipment and supplies.
- Perform errands for the nursing unit as necessary.
- Assist licensed personnel in creating a safe and comfortable environment for patients, including replenishing water, linens, and towels.
- Execute unit-specific patient care tasks in accordance with established protocols and document findings appropriately.
- Recognize and report any significant changes in a patient’s condition to the supervising nurse promptly.
- Assist in the ordering and organization of stock items as needed.
- Keep unit supplies organized and accessible.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations.
- Communicate clearly with team members during and between shifts.
- Address phone calls and patient call lights in a timely manner.
- Adapt patient assessment and care methods to meet the diverse needs of each individual.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform assigned patient care duties in a manner that aligns with the specific needs of the patient population served.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in patient care within an acute care environment is advantageous.
Licenses and Certifications: A valid CNA License in the state of employment is required. Additionally, BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is mandatory.
Work Schedule:
This position typically operates on a 7AM - 7PM schedule.
