Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with clients, including governmental entities, public housing authorities, and other organizations.
  • Perform complex tasks utilizing client records and other pertinent material.
  • Supervise the daily activities of the audit engagement.
  • Identify areas of risk in assigned engagements requiring additional attention.
  • Supervise and coach junior and staff auditors, reviewing their work for accuracy and compliance.
  • Obtain sufficient relevant data to afford a reasonable basis for conclusions or recommendations in relation to all services provided to clients.
  • Ensure that the engagement has been properly planned, that documentation provides sufficient evidence, and that financial statements are free of material misstatements.
  • Make recommendations for improving internal controls.
  • Facilitate the audit process and build strong client relationships through effective communication.
  • Prepare written reports and make presentations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Working on or have completed requirements for CPA license.
  • Understand principles, practices, methods, and theories of auditing standards and accounting standards.
  • Working knowledge of GASB, Yellow-Book, and Uniform Guidance Standards a plus.
  • Knowledgeable of laws, ordinances, regulations, and statutes which govern audit functions.
