About the Role

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in Nashotah, Wisconsin. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our endoscopy department, providing exceptional patient care, and collaborating with our healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Procedure Preparation
    • Prepare the operating room and equipment for each procedure, ensuring a sterile and safe environment for patients.
    • Assist in the setup and maintenance of endoscopic equipment, including scopes, cameras, and monitors.
  • Procedure Support
    • Provide technical support during endoscopic procedures, including assisting with patient positioning, instrument handling, and specimen collection.
    • Monitor and maintain aseptic technique throughout the procedure, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety.
  • Post-Procedure Care
    • Assist in the cleaning and disinfection of equipment and the operating room, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for future procedures.
    • Document patient information, procedure details, and any issues or concerns that arose during the procedure.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.
  • Experience
    • Typically requires 1 year of experience in a nursing assistant, medical assistant, or similar patient care position.
  • Certifications
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required.
  • Skills
    • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
    • Basic computer proficiency.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.
